Dean Fearing, author of “The Texas Food Bible,” will sign books at the St. Michael Woman’s Exchange, located at 5 Highland Park Village, on October 1, from 3-5 p.m.

Mr. Fearing, chef, author and creator of Fearing’s restaurant in Dallas, is renowned for the “elevated American cuisine—bold flavors, no borders” of his award-winning restaurant.

Since its opening in 2007, Fearing’s has been named “Restaurant of the Year” and “Table of the Year” by Esquire Magazine, as well as number one in hotel dining in the U.S. by the prestigious “Zagat Survey.”  The restaurant was nominated by the James Beard Foundation as best new restaurant, and it is currently included on top national lists by TheDailyMeal.com, Gayot.com and many other influential food websites.

Established in 1958, St. Michael Woman’s Exchange is a highly successful specialty gift shop located in Highland Park Village. Featuring a well-edited selection of gifts and stationery for all occasions—the home, babies and children, weddings and birthdays, hostesses and friends—The Exchange has served the community as a unique retail ministry for more than 50 years.

Staffed almost exclusively by more than 120 volunteers—including buyers, cashiers, sales staff and gift wrappers—The Exchange contributes its annual proceeds to the Women of Saint Michael’s Grants Committee for distribution via 101 charitable grants to nonprofit agencies and organizations serving those in need.  Since its inception, The Exchange has raised and given away more than $8 million.
