Two YWLA students try out iPads in the Tech Lab.
The Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) at Arnold in Grand Prairie, TX celebrated the grand opening of its new Technology Lab on Thursday, December 7.

Through a generous grant from Capital One, Heart of America’s team worked with the YWLA staff and community to transform an area within the facility into a state-of-the-art technology center. The future Tech Lab will foster collaborative learning through a group study area, a multi-media center, new instructional tables and chairs, a 3D printer station and mobile instructor desk. YWLA’s Lab will provide on-demand access to software and tools, empowering students to develop the skills needed to succeed in an increasingly digital economy.

The Young Women’s Leadership Academy at Arnold is part of the Young Women’s Preparatory Network, a nonprofit organization that partners with public school districts to create and support all-girl schools. The schools have a foundation of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) curriculum with a focus on the pillars of leadership, college readiness, and health and wellness.
